About Reiki
(pronounced Ray-kee)

Reiki is a spiritual, healing practice used to promote balance throughout the human system. Gentle yet powerful, the healing art of Reiki is used for relaxation, stress reduction, symptom relief and to improve overall health and well-being.

Since 2007, I have worked with people of all ages and levels of health, from all backgrounds. Many of my clients use Reiki to maintain good health. Some come to Reiki to develop themselves spiritually or experience a greater sense of meaning in life. And many seek Reiki treatment or training realizing that balancing their systems can help them to better cope with a wide variety of health conditions, including:

  • Cancer
  • Heart disease
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Chronic pain
  • Infertility
  • Neurodegenerative disorders
  • Autism/developmental delays
  • Crohn’s Disease
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Emotional illness, including mild psychosis
  • Fatigue syndromes
  • End-of-life care and bereavement

The following are some commonly reported benefits of Reiki treatment. Although at this time, the evidence for most of these benefits is anecdotal, there are research data showing that Reiki treatment can be effective for relaxation, pain management, reduced anxiety, reduced depression, and enhanced well-being:

  • Relaxation
  • Pain management
  • Reduced anxiety
  • Reduced depression
  • Improved sleep
  • Improved digestion
  • Enhanced well-being
  • Stronger self-esteem
  • Support for substance abuse recovery
  • Accelerated surgical recovery
  • Reduced side effects from radiation, chemotherapy and Rx meds
  • Greater self awareness
  • Greater ease and satisfaction in relationship
  • Heightened intuition

A dynamic shift in the acceptance by Western medicine has occurred over the past ten years and some of the most prestigious of hospitals and cancer centers include Reiki programs for patients and staff:

  • Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York
  • Marian Medical Center, Cancer Care Svcs in Santa Maria
  • Wilcox Memorial in Honolulu
  • Hearst Cancer Resource Center in San Luis Obispo
  • MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston
  • St Joseph's Medical Center in Stockton
  • New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia Univ Med Ctr Campus
  • Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston
  • The well known Dr. Mehmet Oz recently stated on The Oprah Winfrey Show,
"Energy Medicine is the next big frontier in medicine.
Dr. Oz was one of the first physicians to include a Reiki practitioner in his department at The Columbia Presbyterian Medical Centre in New York City.  Dr. Oz has allowed the use of Reiki during open heart surgeries and heart transplant operations. His endorsement on the front cover of Pamela Miles' book, REIKI, A Comprehensive Guide, states "Pamela Miles has written an intelligent, sensitive guidebook to this remarkable healing practice."

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion, doctrine or dogma.

Reiki brings deep relaxation which allows our body’s self-healing abilities to engage.  Reiki is spiritual healing.  It brings balance of energy to the “whole body”-- the body, the mind and the spirit.

Some people practice or receive Reiki to strengthen their wellness, others use it to help cope with symptoms such as pain or fatigue, or to support their medical care, even in the case of chronic illness or at end-of-life.

Reiki is a deeply rejuvenating, restorative and safe process. Give yourself or a loved one the gift of healing hands today.

Distance Reiki Session:  Distance Reiki is a wonderful and effective way to experience and receive healing when you are not physically able to be present with your practitioner.  Distance healing offers the same benefits as in-person sessions on an emotional, physical, spiritual and emotional level since energy has no boundaries.
